Messy Family Home Evening

We played this game: You take flour and pack it into a cup, then you turn it upside down onto a plate. (like a sand castle) Then you put a chocolate button on top and cut slices out of the flour, from top to bottom. The one who cuts the flour and it falls has to get the chocolate button. It is actually gross, Cheryn threw up, and I has gummy flour stuck to my teeth, but grossness aside we had a lot of fun and a lot of laughing. This game was the missionaries idea!

The Gold and Green Ball

They are beautiful.

Zeek's birthday continued

Zeek couldn't decide if he wanted chocolate or vanilla icing, so I surprised him by giving him both.

Don't know why it is blurry, but you get the idea, we had two trick candles.

Spider Webs

I went out this morning to hang out the washing, and saw that the spiders have been very busy. These webs are all over the line, but mysteriously, I couldn't find the spiders?!

Happy Birthday Zeek

I am sure you are beginning to realise (or have already) that we all jump into our bed on the morning of someone's birthday and open presents. So yesterday was Zeek's 13th birthday, I can't believe how old he is getting. He got a Yo-yo from Corbin,
Light Sabre from Rachel,
sleepy smile,
This is the moment he realised he got a Carbrini T-shirt and Jumper from Pete and I (he has been asking for them for ages) Carbrini is a brand name by the way.
Ant world (or ant farm) Pete and I again

And a Jedward CD from Cheryn.
We couldn't have cake and dinner because I was working in the late afternoon and Pete was working in the evening, so tonight we are having his birthday dinner and cake.

Rachel

Tonight Cheryn decided to use Rachel as her barbie doll. They were up in their room doing makeup, dressing up and brushing hair. This is the end result. She looks so lovely.

Pete's birthday surprise

Pete was mystified. I told him to get into the car because we were going somewhere. So he is thinking we will go to Angela's house because there is more room there. We drive past her road. Okay, not Angela's. Then he sees we are heading towards the South side of the island, so now he is thinking maybe Yvonne's house. But he can't figure why we would be going there, so he gives up trying to guess.

Here he is in his new shirt, doesn't he look dashing? This is just as we were heading out. "What kind of shoes will I need, and will I need a coat?" He really doesn't know what I have planned!

We were going to Yvonne's house, she is wonderful, she put up balloons and posters and decorations, and laid out a glorious selection of food. When we got there Pete looked slightly confused, why had we come here for his birthday dinner? Then just as he rounded the corner.... SURPRISE!! Look at his face, it is brilliant.
There were more people in her lounge than he expected. Patrick and family, Us (of course) Yvonne, and her friend John. I just love that we caught him out, that is hard to do with someone who seems to share my brain waves regularly.

We left at 10:30, having had a lovely evening. He said he felt so special and loved, and that's because he IS special and he IS loved.

Happy Birthday Pete

It was a bit too early for all of us, but oh well, we all jumped into bed and sang Happy Birthday to the 40 year old!!!Pete opening his presents...

We had kind of a lazy day, the kids at school, Pete off to town to work, me getting ready for the evening (which Pete had no idea about) What happened in the evening will follow in my next blog post.

I love this man so much, I consider it a privilege to be his wife. He is my friend. I thank Heavenly Father every single day for that privilege. I am glad we are together.

Walk in the local forest

The other day we were all feeling a little cabin sickness, so we jumped into the car and went for a walk in the forest. Cheryn had just gotten a new book, so most of her walk was done reading. We had a nice time, Corbin also made himself a bush hut with random logs he found lying around.

Rachel picked a pepper

Which she grew as well. Here is is in all it's dissected glory. She said it was so sweet, the best red pepper she had ever tasted!

It has seemed like a very long process getting it from small plant to red pepper. Makes me worried, if the time ever comes that we need to grow our own, I would have died before this pepper even got some red on it! Oh well, she enjoyed growing and eating her own red pepper.
