Canoing at Castlewellan

You know we have been out on the canoes when you see our front garden looking like this. The story of our day unfolds below.
It was a bank holiday so we decided to make the most of it. We went with the Noble clan (That is their sir name, although they are noble people) to Castlewellan, and spent the day picnicking and canoing. First we all got into the canoes and went out into the lake, it was really windy, so we used an impromptu sail.It worked so well that the other people behind us couldn't catch up. While we were sailing along we saw something bobbing up and down in the water up ahead, when we took a closer look we saw that it was a capsized canoe. We managed to turn it over and then we tied it onto the back of our one. So what is that law about finding something in the water? Ben was wanting a new canoe! No we couldn't keep it, it wasn't international waters after all. So we paddled along some more and some of the little people (there were 16 in all) decided that it would be great to get a tow in the new addition.
Amazingly enough, no one fell in during the transfer. Now if you will look at the pic above you will see a pirates flag stuck into the boat that we were on. While we were paddling along the kids all decided to capture the flag. Next thing we here a triumphal yell from behind us and this is what we see:They were so thrilled with themselves! When we got back we all just ate and played, it was great. Look at Megan attacking Cheryn, they spent ages wrestling. Ben and Nathan went out and it looked so cute, Ben was saying: "Just like daddy." Well I think Nathan did such a good job of paddling just like daddy.A lot of people say that Pete looks like crocodile Dundee in his leather hat, so I have titled this picture THE CANOE HUNTER.And finally, we were here at Castlewellan almost a year ago. So I got a picture standing in the same place, just to see if there were any differences. I should have worn my brown shirt and dark jeans today, then it would have looked really good.
