Thank you

I have had some good ideas and advice. Right now I am sitting eating Shredded Wheat cereal (Thanks Angela you were right) no sugar in the making of these, and no added sugar, it's not too bad actually.

So I survived my first day, but last night after supper I was just dying for something sweet, I fell asleep wishing I could eat some chocolate, or cereal with sugar, or a syrup sandwich, anything!

Oh well, one day down, forty two to go.

Help!

It has been discovered that I have a bad yeast infection in my gut. So I have been given a list of things that I must not eat for six weeks. I have some ideas of what I can eat, but today was my first day of this 'diet' and I had no idea what to eat for breakfast. I go to gym every day around 9:30 so I need something good in my stomach. Any ideas?

Things I can't eat: Bread (no yeast), scones, cheese (nothing fermented), fruit yoghurt, sugar (I don't need to worry about trace sugar), chocolate, honey, syrup, mushrooms, cucumber, cabbage, sprouts, green beans, no fruit of any kind (fructose feed yeast), yeast, stock cubes (there are some that don't have any yeast in though and I can use those), vinegar, monosodium glutamate, coffee, decaf (no worries there), fruit juice, (I can have cranberry juice though, so long as there is no added sugar), no alcohol (again no worries). I must look at all packaging to see if there is sugar, so no cereal either.

Please your meal ideas would be most welcome. 6 weeks can be a very long time, or an interesting journey of different foods.

Thanks.

My Book on Romance

Few of you will know (and fewer will believe) that I've been asked to write a book on romance (as a prequel to my not yet published but soon to be incredibly successful book on parenting).

In the first chapter we'll be looking at how not to get girls to call you back:

Sisters

Granny and Grandpa Bowen's visit

We had a good time with the Grandparents visiting. On the Sunday we went for a walk in Cairn Wood Forest. It was nice to get out and enjoy the fresh air. The kids enjoyed the bouncy tree again.
Then another day we went to Crawfordsburn. Dad had never been there, so he enjoyed it.

He tried on this sea weed beard, but decided it was too smelly to keep.

Thanks for visiting with us, it was good to have you here.

EU-approved pathway

The locals are becoming the laughing stock of the world for their obsession with health and safety.

I feel much safer now. Thanks to the North Down Borough Council for warning me about the dangerous corner on my local footpath as I enjoy my walk.

Happy Birthday Rachel

Well she is 10 now! It was a great birthday, she had lots of fun. This video is of her opening her present, her first mobile phone. I phoned it so that she could guess what it was before she opened it. (video won't load, will try later)

She wanted a cake on top of a cake.

Stake family camp

We drove down to the forest park on Monday and set up camp. The kids had a great time, they spent the majority of the time away in the forest with friends or swimming at the river (I hardly ever saw Cheryn).

On Tuesday afternoon we discovered that our tent was leaking, so we went home. But I drove down on Wednesday and Thursday to enjoy the days there, I am so glad we did.
The slip 'n slide was a definite winner. On Wednesday they spent about 2 hours sliding, but on Thursday they spent about 4 hours. What soapy, muddy, dirty, glorious FUN.
