Last week Saturday....

Zeek and I spent two hours in the accident and emergency. He and Cheryn were wrestling and as she was advancing to "attack", she tripped over a blanket on the floor and crashed onto Zeek, breaking his thumb! My mom always used to say: "Too much laughing comes before crying." Boy was she right. Poor Zeek was sore and poor Cheryn felt very bad.

Snow three days later

Look at the difference between a garden that has children playing in it and one that does not. These icicles are outside my bedroom window, apparently this means that our house is not properly insulated.
I took this photo on Wednesday, the second day of snow, we had a white out, it was beautiful, but not for these motorists slipping and sliding as they went.

Snow Day!

What do you do when school is cancelled because of all the snow? Play in it of course!

Zeek's breath

Zeek was standing next to me when I took this picture, that is his breath.

More than a dusting of snow, and more to come!

They said it didn't snow here on the Isle of Wight! Well, we got snow alright!

We had a snowball fight with the neighbours over the low back fences, it was great fun.
If you look carefully you can see the neighbour kid climbing over the fence to get a better shot.

The Cohens came to visit

On one visit to the beach we went to Sandown. It was cold, but the kids played for ages in the sand and Judi and I went for a walk. This is a part of the rock outcropping at the end of the bay, the red/orange colour is beautiful.

Then on another day (New years day to be exact) the Bowens, Cowens and Baxters went to Steep Hill Cove. It is described as such a quaint lovely bay, and I thought it was, but when we got there Rachel said: "What a rip off!" You have to park and walk to get there, about 10 min. After the initial disappointment, she really had fun, and so did the other kids. They even found some Ammonite fossils.
