Farewell

It has been good to live here in NI. The people have been welcoming and kind. I have had so many good times here, and some very valuable lessons learned too.

I am packing the computer today and don't know when it will be up and running again.

I feel blessed for the experience of living in this magical place. So as we turn our backs to this chapter in our lives, we face an exciting new chapter.

I am looking forward to this new place to live.

Rachel's hair on the last day of school

She wanted to look really smart, lots of plaits and loops, this is only the third time I have tried an upstyle. Anyway, she really liked it, and so did all of her friends at school.

Farewell gift to Poppy

This is Cheryn's friend, she spent so much time with our family that we had enough photos of her to be able to do this. We will miss her.

A moment in the mad life of moving

An update from the 10th October, our wedding anniversary. We decided to go for a walk in the forests of Stormont. It was slightly chilly, but we enjoyed it. Pete has the beard because he had a lump cut out of his neck and couldn't shave for 3 weeks.

Things are coming to a close

Yesterday I cleaned my downstairs carpets - Yuck, I can't believe how dirty they were! I painted the dirty patches and old picture hook holes. And I washed all of Cheryn's bedding and clothing that she didn't take.

Cheryn went off so bravely and confidently. For those of you who don't know, I sent her off to the IOW early so that she can get sorted with school. She flew to Heathrow, met Patrick, then went on two trains, one ferry and then lastly a bus. She left us at 15:00 and got there at 21:00, it was a long day for her. She sounded excited when she had arrived and is enjoying herself so far.

Today it is the upstairs carpets and walls, and packing any extra clothing away that the family doesn't need now (shorts, costumes, etc...) Then tonight it is out with some friends for some socializing and food, I am looking forward to that.

Last week I did my final assessment in Hair Dressing. I am now a qualified Hair Dresser! It is so exciting. Last night we had a client come into the salon who just wanted a wash and blow dry, I was told that she was a client from Hell. I felt confident though, she loved the blow dry and even gave me a tip - something my lecturer has never seen her do - she is a regular there.

I love doing hair, I enjoy helping other people to feel good about them selves.

Well, that is all for now, I am getting to the point where I just feel excited about this move, I can't wait to get there. The next adventure in the lives of the Peter Bowen's!

Moving day

Well I realized that almost no one knows when we are moving. So here it is: we leave on the 28th of October. REEEAAAALLLLYYYY early in the morning. We will arrive on the Isle of Wight about 19:30 that night, so it is going to be a long day.

We have a house there, three bedroom row house, with a long skinny back garden.

Cheryn is going two weeks early so that Angela can enroll her into her new school and get her settled.

I am doing my last Hair Dressing assessment on Thursday, so then I'll be fully qualified! I am very excited about that.

The house is looking empty because I have been packing the things into the garage. We taped off a section the size of our moving truck and I am packing the things into that space, that way we will know what fits and what to dump or give away. The bikes are going onto the car, that is why they are off to the side.

So that's all for now.
